Harambee

 

Harambee is a female mentoring program that empowers young females by allowing them opportunities to pursue educational and professional goals, develop supportive and positive relationships with adults and peers, and facilitate personal growth. This program is open to middle school and high school girls.  Harambee meets every Tuesday evening from 6:00pm-7:30pm and dinner is provided.

 

 Lessons we've covered:

 

     -Preparing for job interviews and filling out job applications.

 

     -Yoga, meditation and relaxation series.

   

     -Healthy eating workshops.

   

     -Job exposure with guest speakers in the following careers: Police officer, cosmetologist, District Attorney,

     and Fashion Designer.

 

     -Goal setting activities.

Donate


We are always looking for supplies and donations to enhance our group, currently we are in need of the following:


- Someone to cook a healthy meal to serve 15 people for our meetings on Tuesdays.


- Art/ Craft Supplies- markers, crayons, colored pencils, paints, construction paper, three ring binders etc..
